  • Sweating In Jeans

    Sweating In Jeans

When you wake up in the morning you look out the window and see what the weather’s looking like.

Based on this you make a decision on what you’re going to wear for the day.

Today I made the wrong decision.

    I chose jeans.

Daaaammmmnnn, that was not the right choice.

By lunchtime it was so damn hot I thought my legs were going to be cooked by the time I got home.

At just about the hottest part of the day Holly sent me a photo of Max drinking an ice cold smoothie in nothing more than a nappy.

Well that’s just great. It made me feel good to be in my sweatpants while they were sitting in the garden drinking ice cold drinks and playing in the paddling pool.

Anyhoo, I’d better get off and mow the garden. My personal gratification is going to be a calippo.

    Ciao,

No social media marketing strategy is complete without Instagram. It’s become a top platform for brands, advertisers, and consumers alike.

6 Strategies For Success From An Immigrant Who Went From McDonald’s Employee To Six-Figure CEO

Lenka Lutonska is a leading NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) trainer, mindset and business strategist.

Based in the UK, she works with women entrepreneurs around the world to help them grow their businesses to multiple-six figures and beyond.

Originally from Slovakia, Lutonska came to the UK when she was 19 with just £30 (about $40 U.S.) in her pocket.

In just five years, she worked her way up from cleaning tables at McDonald’s to managing a store, all while immersing herself in learning about self-development and NLP, which she says changed her life.

Stay Fit While Traveling for Work

5 Ways to Turn Turn a Pain into a Win

Recently I was sitting in a restaurant in Munich, staring in resignation as my wine glass was refilled another time despite my protestations.

It had been a long day of sitting through meetings, punctuated by breaks where we were plied with finger foods and coffee, followed by lunch, and then more sitting, and then after-meeting cocktails, and then dinner with two gentlemen who were hoping to land a new contract.

“Try this bread!” my host boomed, “German bread is delicious!” I tried it.

It was delicious. It was only day three of my conference, but already I felt flat-bottomed and bloated. Taking the tiniest sip from my wine glass that I could manage, I resolved to get myself back on track. You see, for me, business travel is a time to reset my mind and my body.

An opportunity to start something new.

  • Screaming Children

    Screaming Children

What’s been happening on America’s border recently is truly horrific.

The videos, photos and images coming out of the children detention centers is the kind of things nightmares are made of.

Worse, it’s what you expect from facist regimes, not what you expect from a democratic world power.

Personally I find the sickening display of trying to pass the blame makes it even worse.

The bottom line is Trump knew it was happening and he did nothing until world outcry forced him to.

It’s upsetting, it’s disturbing and quite frankly it’s disgusting.

There aren’t words to describe it, so I’m going to stop trying.

10 Tips for Writing Emails That Will Get You Tangible Results

If you follow this 10-step process, you’ll avoid the email mistakes that other marketers are making.

Before you write an email message, you should understand some copywriting basics.

Following are 10 steps that you should keep in mind as you write your email messages:

Step 1: Exploit your product’s (or service’s) benefits

If you’re writing an email message with a call to action that motivates people to take an action, then you need to exploit the benefits of the item you’re offering.

Whether that item is one of the products or services you sell or it’s a free ebook, if you want people to act, you need to clearly explain the benefits they’ll get when they complete the action.

Don’t just talk about the features of what you’re offering — clearly explain what people will get when they act.

What problems will be solved or pain points addressed after that action is taken?

How will acting make their lives better, easier or happier?

Determine the benefits of your offer and promote them in your message.

Get the other nine steps here.

Here’s How People With the Fewest Regrets Spend Their Valuable Time

People who get to the end of their days and assess their lives positively have one thing in common–they’re intentional about their behaviours in the here and now.

It can be sobering to think about the finite amount of time you’ve been given. And like it or not, how you assess your life when you get to the end of it is completely dependent on how you have conducted yourself.

Here’s how you can make the most of yours.

  • Thaa She Blows

    Thaa She Blows

Last Friday I needed to get rid of a load of boxes, so I decided to burn them.

As I burned them I realised what a bad idea it was.

It wasn’t the giant flames leaping out of the fire pit that got me concerned.

Nor the smoke which, if the wind had changed, could have blown into the neighbours.

What actually tipped me off to the bad idea was the Vesuvius sized pieces of ash blowing up from the fire!

That was when I thought I should probably have not done burnt quite that amount of cardboard.

Hey ho… all was well and I got rid of a load of cardboard.

Anyway, on to today’s best stories from the world of business and entreneurialism.

This is a short blog post fropm Seth Godin, but I strongly recommend everyone reads it.

    Every brand needs new customers.

Those of you who have been in business for a while may be doing fine generating high sales from your existing customers.

But where do you find them?

Neil Patel shows you how in this article on Quicksprout.

  • Vegetarian Chicken

    Vegetarian Chicken

So… it’s turning out to prove harder to get this email out to you every day at exactly the same time.

    My morning’s have gone insane.

Today we had to go back to Addenbrooke’s for a hospital appointment for Max, which took out the entire middle part of the day.

I did begin writing this email at 7am, but then I had to leave before I’d finished it.

Anyhoo… the important thing is that it’s here with you now in all it’s glory.

See you tomorrow (at some point!),

    Vegetarian Fried Chicken

    Here Endeth The World

    Humans are strange.

They’ll pay hundreds of dollars to eat food that looks like something and actually is something else in very fancy restaurants.

It’s a funny thought. VFC is the new KFC. Yes… KFC are launching vegetarian fried chicken.

All fast food chains are being pressured into making their food more healthy, and in the UK the government wants people to have more options with less calories.

So there’s a good reason for it.

    Republishing Old Blog Posts

Squeezing The Juice Out Of Your Content

I would say that content is currently the single biggest issue facing most people online today.

Everyone needs content, and it needs to be damn good if you want to be successful.

Gone are the days of churning out crap, ranking in Google and making loads of affiliate sales.

The problem is… good quality content is damn expensive.

And most folk only use it once, which makes it even more expensive.

However, content re-purposing can squeeze every bit of value out of your content.

This blog on Pro-Blogger is an excellent way to get started.

  • Oh my gaawwwd

    Oh my gaawwwd

Two weeks ago we were lucky enough to see… Hamilton!

And a big thank you to the two friends who had the two spare tickets and offered them to us.

If you’re not into your theatre, then you should know that getting Hamilton tickets is as rare as finding a goldmine in your garden.

It can happen, but you’ve got to be damn lucky.

So a big thank you to Charles and Sophia for choosing us to join them.

And there’s only one thing to say about the show…

    WOW.

    I mean holy f**k it’s good.

Not only is it good, but it’s new, fresh and different.

If you ever get the chance to go and see it, then you should go and see it.

It’s about Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of America who gets very little recognition in comparison to the other founding fathers.

The story is so interesting that I’m now reading the book about Alexander Hamilton that inspired the show.

What made him so special, is that he not only came from nothing, but that his vision, energy and entrepreneurialism are not only what the USA believes as it’s core foundations, but wouldn’t have existed without him.

    It’s that simple.

He was responsible for America being the country it is today!

Of course, the other founding fathers played their parts, but in actuality, none of it would have been possible without him.

And if there’s ever a claim to be recognised for, that would be it.

Now, saying you should see the show after telling you that it’s virtually impossible to get tickets isn’t really fair.

So if you want to read the book, here is where you can get it on Amazon.

Get it now and enjoy the read 🙂

    All the best,

    Michael
