How To Repurpose Your Content To Drive Traffic – Part 2

Last week I started to look at how you can repurpose your content. You can check that article out here.

Repurposing content allows you to spread your content over the web and over a period of time will start to generate a consistent and strong flow of traffic to your website.

In the last article we looked at how to find which of your posts to convert into PDF’s and then where to share those PDF’s.

Today you’re going to take those PDF’s that you created and turn them into slides and then share these.

In fact if you used the provider on Fiverr that I use to create your PDF’s then you’ll already have a set of slides and can just get straight into posting them.

That provider is:

If you have created your own PDF files then you want to use PowerPoint or Keynote to create your slideshow.

Don’t worry if you don’t have either of those pieces of software, because Google offer one for free called Google Slides. You can check it out here.

Once you’ve got your slides then it’s time to publish them to a variety of slide sharing sites.

The slide sites that I would recommend you share them to are:

  1. http://www.slideshare.net
  2. http://www.slideworld.com/
  3. http://www.slideboom.com/
  4. http://www.scribd.com/

When you publish your slide you need to enter the title of the slide, think of your title as the headline. It’s what’s going to grab your audience and make them click on your slides to see them.

Make it attention grabbing, for example…

How to Improve Your Copywriting

Ideally your titles should be 34 characters or less. If they’re longer than 34 characters then some of the sliding sites won’t show the entire title, they will show 34 characters and then … which will decrease the performance.

Once you’ve put your title in, you’ll need to put in your description. Again this should be no longer than 74 characters for the same reason.

In this 74 characters you need to make sure that you get a link back to your website, squeeze page or original content. Use a URL shortener like bit.ly to enable you to make this link as short as possible.

With the remaining characters give a brief description of what is contained in your slideshow.

Finally you will need to add tags.

As a general rule you can add up to 20 keywords to the tags of most slide sharing sites. And you should!

The keyword tags are how people are going to find your content. The more of these you add then the more people who will discover your slides. Adding your keyword tags is very important. Do not forget it.

Implement this second step in re-purposing your content and next week I’ll be back with the third step.
