The Dogs Of War

Have you seen that movie War Dogs?

It’s the one, where some kids manage to secure a huge U.S. government contract to supply weapons and ammunitions.

Jonah Hill and Miles Teller star in the film, and Jonah Hill plays the asshole while Miles Teller plays the nice guy who gets dragged into it.

As the film progresses, Miles Teller’s character begins to look more tired and drawn out. Which is kinda how I feel today.

It’s just been one of those weeks.

I started with the paint-stripping, combined with Eddie (the man who helps me behind the scenes) going on holiday, and me going off to Oktoberfest tonight, I feel like I’ve barely slept this week.

And when you feel like that, your productivity drops through the floor!

But that’s how I used to feel all the time. Now it’s only very occasionally, when there’s a huge amount going on.

It’s very easy to feel that being this busy and tired, means you’re running a proper business.

Let me tell you now, it isn’t.

If you feel like that all the time, then you’re going to be making bad decisions, you’re going to be making costly mistakes, and the reality is… you’ll be getting far less done and it’ll be taking you a long time to do it.

Don’t get over-tired. 

When you feel like you’re trying to do too much, take a step back and breathe, re-organise yourself and then start again tomorrow.

There’s always tomorrow, and in reality, there’s almost nothing that can’t wait until then!
