The keys to the castle

We’re picking up the keys to our new house today. In fact by the time you’re reading this we’ve probably already got them.

I’ve got to be honest, buying this house has been a mission.

I don’t know what it’s like where you are in the world, but in the UK they do everything to make it pretty damn hard.

The biggest thing was that the previous owner wouldn’t give his keys to the estate agent. Which meant that he always had to be in if we wanted to go and visit.

Considering he was living four hours away from the property, that made it a bit of a pain in the ass to arrange dates.

His reason… there were valuables in the house and he didn’t want the estate agent having access.

Then take the damn valuables with you, you’re not living there anymore!

This house is also kinda old, like 300 years, which meant we needed to go and visit a lot with all kinds of engineers and surveyors to make sure it wasn’t about to fall down.

Now I’m not saying he wasn’t helpful, he was very helpful and very nice and tried to get to the property whenever we asked.

But…

If he’d made it easier for us then the sale would have happened nearly 3 months ago rather than today.

The lesson learned…

Always make it as easy as possible for your customers to purchase your products.

The harder you make it, the lower conversion rate = less money.
