Would you like some cocaine with your tea?

One of my best friends, Jamie, came up to visit on Sunday. It was just what I needed, having been in the hospital or the house for the last two weeks. As much as I love Holly, there’s only so much we can talk about when exhausted.

He came up expecting to go for one or two drinks, and then head back down to London afterwards.

To be fair to him, he did go down to London afterwards, it’s just it was 24 hours afterwards 😀

Anyhoo… we went outside so that he could have a smoke, and there was a lady (I use the term very loosely) there. We got chatting to her, and she seemed pleasant enough, until she started telling us about her brother that had just been given eight years in prison for aggravated assault.

Starting to feel slightly uncomfortable, but being ever so British, we continued to nod politely and join in an increasingly awkward conversation. All the time looking for a moment to politely leave and go back inside.

You see this is the thing about the British, we are sometimes just too damn polite.

However, it was when she offered us cocaine in return for the cigarette Jamie had given her, that we decided etiquette be damned. It was time to beat a hasty retreat.

Which we did.

Once inside, sitting next to the fireplace and watching the world tennis championships, we got to talking about the lady we’d just met.

Both of us had started to feel uncomfortable with the conversation, but during the course of it, she’d revealed large chunks of her life to us, and we spent the next hour trying to piece together the rest.

There’s no doubt about it, she had a story, and one that would be worth telling, although would probably never be told.

The thing is, everybody has a story. And I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t have a story worth telling.

When it comes to copywriting, you need to draw on your own story. Within your large story, you’ll have hundreds of smaller stories.

This is all you need to be a successful copywriter.

You don’t need anything else.

If you’ve experienced something, then there’ll be millions of people who’ve also experienced something similar, which means…

…you can immediately connect with them.

To get a complete guide to copywriting like a pro, you’re gonna want next month’s Business Ignition.

P.S. This copywriting technique will take you from having never done a sales page, to competing with five and six figure writers in days.

P.P.S. Oh yeah, and you’ll spend just a fraction of the time writing your copy that they do 😉
