Yes… I Will Unsubscribe You From My List

This post is kinda like a service notification, but far more entertaining.

Starting from Monday I’m going to be unsubscribing people from my email list. In fact I’m going to do more than that, I’m going to be unsubscribing people and blocking them from re-joining for 90 days.

I bet you’ve never heard any of the gooroos say they do that.

It goes against every belief that most marketers subscribe to:

More leads = more money

But you’re not most marketers. You’re reading this blog (and hopefully getting my emails), and that makes you stand out.

So here’s why I’m doing it…

A lot of people join mailing lists just to get the free offer. They signup, check out the first email, occasionally the second, grab their free product and then never read another email.

The MW Marketing Mastermind newsletter is already different, because what I’m offering for free is strategies and advice to grow your online income. I’m not giving away ebooks and videos because I don’t think it’s necessary. I can give you more advice in an email than you’d get if I made a single ebook, and… it’s always up to date and the latest that we’re testing.

But those people who sign-up hoping for one-click get-rich schemes are unlucky. They don’t really want to learn how to make money online, they’re looking for a way to get someone else to make money for them.

And that doesn’t happen. Which is how I tell it.

So… because I’m telling them the reality, not what they want to hear, they stop reading my emails.

Which is fine. I don’t want them on my list because they’re never going to get any success online anyway, and I want people like you, people who are on the road to being very successful.

Now I send out quite a few emails, at least one a day.

If someone’s been on my list for a month and not opened any emails, then I know they were hoping to get some kind of get-rich quick scheme and were disappointed I wasn’t offering it.

And I’m sure as heck not going to pay Aweber for them to be on my list when they don’t want to read my stuff and I don’t want to send it to them.

So every week anybody who’s been on my newsletter at least a month and hasn’t opened any emails for 30 days or more is going to get unsubscribed by me. And I’m not going to allow them back on for at least ninety days. I’m literally going to block their email from joining.

If they want to join this newsletter then they need to be serious about making money online. Opting into every freebie going, probably without even reading the squeeze page, and then never taking notice is guaranteeing them to fail.

Bottom line… I’m incredibly grateful to if you’re on my mailing list and I’ll do everything in my power to help you succeed.

But you gotta want to be there as well.

Most gooroos are scared of using this approach because they’re worried that they’ll be getting rid of people who may buy something at some point in the future.

And they’re right, they might be. But the truth is…

You only want the good customers. The ones who are going to put in the time and effort to succeed.

Service notice over 😉

Michael
